In short, no, in fact no one in Arkansas truly does. Perc testing is no longer performed in Arkansas. Designated Representatives (or D.R.'s as they are commonly known) are licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health to perform soil evaluations on their behalf. People often call this soil evaluation a "perc test" since that is the old process to determine soil suitability and most people aren't aware of this change in conduct or name.
Additionally, some people refer to the process of having a septic system designed and permitted for installation as a perc test, while EarthTech, Inc. also performs this service, it is not a true perc test either.
